The Treatment
She had a bone marrow biopsy and port placed on Friday, January 24th. Chemo treatment started that night.
Treatment will consist of chemo and possibly other options depending on the bone marrow biopsy results. The therapy is supposed to take 5-6 cycles, during which she'll be at the hospital most of the time. During each cycle, days 1-10 will be treated. Days 11-28 will be recovery and monitoring. There will be additional bone marrow biopsies and spinal taps to monitor progress and make decisions on any adjustments to the treatments. There should be some breaks between treatments during which she can come home for short times, but it all depends on how the treatment goes. Juliana has been in high spirits, and we're keeping a positive mindset.
