Chemotherapy has begun

Since starting chemotherapy treatments on Friday, Juliana has been dealing with 102-106-degree fevers, which are a side effect of the medication. Getting the fevers to break has been a struggle. Her appetite has varied due to nausea. Each day, they have taken blood samples to count the number of bad cells. She started at 2400 before treatment and dropped to 1600 within a few hours of the first dose. As of today, there were too few bad cells to get a count. This shows that her body is responding well to the treatments. She is scheduled for her first spinal tap tomorrow. She is still in good spirits. Some days are better than others. She is on day 7 out of 10 for her first cycle of treatment.
